Certification Designation
Technology Specialist (NCTS)Certification Goal: Technology Specialist designations address a broad range of foundational knowledge and skill sets. The certifications can cover entry level proficiency required to identify communication solutions, understand implementation considerations, and engineer or support various technology aspects of a converged network solution in support of a customer's business requirements. Individual Certification descriptions indicate which specific topics are covered.
Target Audience: Individuals worldwide who are responsible for:- Determining the right communications solution for the customer's network
- Providing assistance where necessary in the development of an implementation plan
- Planning, designing and/or engineering network solutions
Demonstrated Skills: A candidate who is minimally qualified can have these characteristics; see each certification description for specific knowledge and skill sets covered. In general it represents approximately three to six months of relevant or related work experience.- Mapping communications solutions to business requirements
- Implementation / deployment planning
- Experience designing a basic network solution
- Can apply knowledge of the technology topics tested to help solve customer design issues in most routine situations
- Can work alone, without close supervision, although he or she may be part of a team
